A kitérő nem kedvezett a családnak, Mozart és nővére is megbetegedett, azonban betegségük nem volt halálos. A csodagyerek első koncertjét Linzben már 1762-ben (1765-1791) megrendezték. Mozart 11 éves volt amikor Ő (és családja) Brno-ban - kapcsolatok révén - a legmagasabb körökben került elhelyezésre Franz Anton Xaver Schrattenbach tartományi kormányzó támogatásával. A kis Wofgang 1767. december 30-án játszott a kormányzó előtt, a mai Rotundában. Mozart híre és szerepe akkora, hogy évszázadok múltán is büszkeség tölti el a környezetet, ahol szerepelt.
